Treacle tart

Serves: 8 (scaled from 8)


130 g butter
250 g plain flour
2 lemons
150 g white breadcrumbs
400 g golden syrup


Make pastry and roll out onto tart case. No need to blind bake. Keep spare pastry.

Melt golden syrup, add breadcrumsb and zest and juice of lemon.

When ready to bake, add filling and extra pastry on the top.

Bake for 10mins at 200 and a further 25-30 at 180 until pastry is golden brown.
